Hi I hope someone can help me I'm having a nightmare. I cant get the Windows Virb Edit programme to run . I have windows 10 64 bit with a new NVidia GeForce GT610 graphics card all updated to latest drivers and Windows checked and updated. So I'm above the Virb Edit minimum requirements but after I've downloaded Virb Edit and go to launch the program I get the start rectangular black box that just flashes and skips about the screen I cant do anything with it it will just flash and skip forever, I have to restart windows to close it . Any ideas anyone? I've started thinking of going back to Gopro ! To make things worse the mobile Virb app is cr-p compared to Gopro,s !My pc had a bit of an issue with other applications open, but that was on the side of the graphics card, not Virb edit. Maybe try and shut other media processes down, ensure the minimum essential programs are running first before trying to start again? Just to rule out any conflicts. Thanks for the reply ,but just had a call from PC shop I took it into they can't figure it out either !!! Very annoying ...have now given up :-( will have to use my old laptop which does work with Virb Edit but is way down on spec compared to my desktop it can only play clips in 720p and can't handle 1080p :-( all I can hope for is a Virb Edit update soon that might work . More while recording. This data can be reviewed right on the device, or can be embedded into their video during the editing process.Additionally, in Ski Mode, the VIRB Elite is able to recognize the difference between going down the mountain and going up the ski lift. In this setting, VIRB Elite automatically turns on and starts recording when going down the mountain, and then goes into standby mode once on the ski lift. This mode saves battery and memory space, and keeps the user from forgetting to record when going down the mountain. This allows VIRB Elite to record all the action while users focus on their activity.VIRB allows many current Garmin customers to take advantage of the Garmin ecosystem. In addition to the optional accessory remote (available Q1 2014), the Edge® 810, fēnix™, quatix™, Oregon® 600 series, and many more can control VIRB allowing users to start and stop recording and take stills right on the device through ANT+ wireless communication (for the full list of device compatibility, visit garmin.com/virb). Also through ANT+, users are able to control several connected VIRB devices. Just move the slider forward to record on the master device, and all the other connected VIRB devices will record as well. VIRB Elite is compatible with other sensors with ANT+ connectivity such as the heart rate monitor, cadence sensor and tempe™ temperature sensor. This data can then be embedded into the video during the editing process, or viewed on the display of VIRB Elite. To complement VIRB Elite, Garmin is launching a mobile application for preview, playback and remote functionality, along with a free desktop software application to edit and upload VIRB and VIRB Elite videos. With this software, users can easily edit their footage and embed sensor data in the video, then share with family and friends or upload to social media sites such as YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.VIRB and VIRB Elite will be widely available for purchase in September 2013. Virb Edit is a remarkable 360 video editor, with features not even included in some paid software, and it’s free!Virb Edit is Garmin’s video editing software for its action cameras. They updated it for the Virb 360 to add features specifically for 360 video editing, and they did an incredible job!– Add titles anywhere in your 360 video. Adding titles to 360 video is a little tricky because if you simply overlay titles on the video, they will look warped as you move higher or lower from the ‘equator’ of your 360 video. With Virb Edit, you can add titles that will automatically be mapped to your 360 video, keeping the normal proportions of the text no matter where you place them. Even Adobe Premiere Pro doesn’t do this (you need a plug in)!– Change the heading. You can change the heading of the video (the view that a viewer first sees, assuming they are looking “forward”). This setting is under Stabilization … Set Initial Orientation. I have 360 video editors that can’t even do this (unless you do it manually by cropping and duplicating the video).– 360-compatible transitions. There are several conventional transitions that look bizarre when used with 360 videos. Virb Edit lets you add transitions that are compatible with 360 videos.- Speed up or slow down the video. As fast as 800% (8X speed) or as slow as 12.5% (1/8th speed).– G-Metrix and Maps. If you have a Garmin GPS or other device, you can overlay a map or statistics on your 360 video. The only drawbacks are that so far it seems my exports are limited to 2.7K. I don’t know if that’s because my video clips are not from the Virb 360 or because of my PC hardware. I did order the Virb 360, which I hope to receive soon to see if I will be able to get 4K. You can download Virb Edit here (for Windows or Mac).UPDATE: This is bizarre, but I’ve found that if the footage I use is from Xiaomi or 2016 Gear 360, I can export at 4K 30 fps. If it’s from the 2017 Gear 360 (4096 x 2048), it’s limited to 2.7K. But if I mix footage from Xiaomi and 2017 Gear 360, I can export at 4k. On the other hand, if I add clips from the Nano or Air, the maximum I can export is 2.7K.

Video projects again. You can manually import an mp4 file by dragging and dropping it into your Media Library. Does playing the manually imported video work?3. Record a time lapse video and import it into VirbEdit. Does it play or crash like the others? Time lapse videos don't have audio tracks, so we're checking to see if our problem is audio or video related.4. In your media library, right click any video that crashes when you try to play it and select "Create Video" and pick a name. After the crash, re open VirbEdit. Did the video you created get added to the Gallery? If so, is there a thumbnail? Does the duration match the source video or is it 0?When you right click a video in the library and click "Play" do you see the video player pop up or does it crash instantly? If you see the player, do you ever see the first frame from your video (however briefly) or hear any sound prior to the crash?Thank you for your help! Hi Purdington,Thanks for your help and I found a temp solution based on your questions. :-)Let me answer your questions first:1. Doesn't work.2. Doesn't work3. Works, time laps video plays however there is a bug in Virb Edit. It doesn't import a timelaps video properly and any time laps will have a duration of 2 seconds only. So the problem looks like audio related, see my solution below.4. The created video does get added to the library with the same seconds. It creates a thumbnail and length matches. When I right click play, the video player pops up and then crashed. I do not see the first frame of the video.Solution:Due to your question 3, I went researching. I disabled the audio device Realtek audio and it started working. Turning it on crashes Virb Edit. Then I roll back the driver version to a previous version and Virb Edit works without issues.During the crash I had Realtek player version 6.0.1.8098, now I rolled back to version 6.0.1.8053. This version works for me and Virb Edit is not crashing

VIRB MRP is $299.99, and VIRB Elite MRP is $399.99. VIRB is the latest solution from Garmin’s outdoor segment, which focuses on developing technologies and innovations to enhance users’ outdoor experiences. Whether it’s golfing, hiking, hunting or geocaching, Garmin outdoor devices are becoming essential tools for outdoor enthusiasts of all levels.

Does it crash instantly? If you see the player, do you ever see the first frame from your video (however briefly) or hear any sound prior to the crash?Thank you for your help! Only timelapse worked with me so i think it is the audio. Is there anyway to get it work? This version works for me and Virb Edit is not crashing anymore.I am on Windows 10 with the latest updates. Hope above info helpd.A couple more things to try, mostly to help me narrow down possibilities. For each of these items, close VirbEdit first. Let me know if any of these has any effect1. Rename the preview video directory. C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Garmin\VirbEdit\Preview change it to Preview2. Or just delete it if you don't care about your optimized videos. When you change it back to "Preview" and VirbEdit will be able to find your optimized videos again.2. Rename your database and manually import an mp4 file. Your database is at C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\VIRB Edit\Database. Rename it to Database2. When you change it back to "Database" after you are finished testing, VirbEdit will be able to find all your

Support and let them know. The VIRB edit software is stupidly power hungry, the minimum required specs for it are quite high IMO, especially as it isn't all that fantastic. Apart from the metric overlays, there is little other benefits over other editing software. CPU, Ram etc?So far we know you have the GT610I also question is your graphics card faulty for that type of error to occur could be a memory leak on the graphics card which can not be tested with memory tests as they test the computers memory.Have you the ability to take the card out and try with onboard cpu graphics? or another graphics card?Have you tried many other applications to see if you can run them and some games ok?Need more info first. Thanks i'm having the same issue with the latest version of Virb Edit on my PC. It wont launnch. Black rectanglar boxes keep flashing on the screen indefinitely. Had no such issues with the previous version. Running in Windows 10 64bit under Bootcamp on a Mac with !2Gb RAM. I have the same issue as this. System is Windows 10 / AMD A10-7800 with Radeon R7 graphics and 8GB of RAM. Works fine with VIRB Edit 3.2 and latest versions of GoPro software. Has anyone found a solution or got any ideas for getting it to work? Thanks same problem hereon the first "black flash" I think it says something
