I have unistalled IE 8 on windows 7. I would like to reinstall IE and see if that fixes it however windows 7 is not listed on microsofts list of operating systems it supports. February 4, 2004, 5:58pm 1 I just installed ver 4 and really like it, but there’s a major problem I’m having. Whenever I launch IE 6.0 a window pops up saying that IE needs to close down. It also gives me the option to send a report to Microsoft. I stopped the script monitor part of Avast and now IE works fine. Just pausing it doesn’t solve the problem. I’ve even reinstalled Avast with only Explorer and Systray running in the task list to avoid conflicts with other programs. The only way I’m able to even be on this forum is because I had to unistall Avast.
