Personally i would love to see something to collect (emotes, cards, backgrounds) *sigh* also if they are so adamant on the monthly backup = backer couldn't they just add a season pass to steam A season pass is a one-time purchase rather than a recurring payment, so the logistical hurdles of figuring out how to apply that to a constantly updated game would be a headache. Since it's a one-time deal, any duration on the pass in excess of two months would result in something that costs considerably more than the game itself, since it costs $5 per month to get access to the backer builds. #18 Here's another bonus of the Steam version. Your PS5 is probably better than the one in your PC. What wifi card are you using? If it's on the motherboard, what motherboard do you have? If it's a laptop, which laptop? :)Edit: 120gb in under 3 hours is over 85MB/s so I assume you have a Gigabit internet connection? SSD vs HDD wouldn't make this big of a difference, so please confirm you are using the 5ghz wifi band, and also check what wifi card you have. Last edited: Feb 22, 2021 #15 Does your PC has an SSD that's as fast as the PS5's? #16 This Can be server issue, hard drive and SSD slower too if they Can't maxout your internet speed. And wifi if it's not 5ghz . #17 PS5 has been fast as hell for me honestly. I downloaded and installed Control (PS5) in less than 10 minutes. (i'm from Portugal)I was really surprised tbh. #18 120GB in 3 hours is 11MB/s. So, not a really high download speed that would saturate your drive bandwith or anything. To have such a huge difference, it must come from your wifi card. Try with a cable I'd say.You should do a speedtest. #19 I have a pretty basic router, nothing fancy or high end. My PS5 is nearly done downloading a 120GB game in under three hours while my PC would take 16+ hours to do that on either Steam, Epic, Origin or any other download client of choice. What's going on here? Using wifi on both btw. Doesn't steam show download speeds on the client? Also helps to see what is your download speeds from competent browser speed test benchmarks on the PC. #20 Are you downloading to SSD's on the PC?I can not max out my broadband when downloading to older platter drives but max my connection when downloading to SSD's.Basicallly downloading faster than my old hard drives can handle. #21 For me its always a mix bag. On some days Steam is faster, on others PS5 is faster. Epic has always been moderate; except Fortnite patches, those take so damn long. All ethernet connected. I think its because my ISP tends to switch server host every so often. #22 Sydney, I'm connecting to my local data centre. IIRC steam doesn't have all games on each server. So depending on the game, you might connect to Sydney, the game isn't there and it has to double download from some other server as it downloads to you.You might try connecting to another server if a particular game is being slow.If that doesn't sound right, you might also have a wifi incompatability with your router. This is especially true if you are on a mac for some reason. SeeWhy is Steam download slower than Internet? - Gamers Wiki
Screenshot by Dot Esports via Larian Studios One small change could make all the difference. | Published: Aug 3, 2023 12:18 pm Baldur’s Gate 3 launched for PC today, and with a massive 122 GB of space required to start the installation, you might be waiting a while to hop into the game. But thanks to some friendly gamers on the internet, one tip just might help you speed up that wait time if you don’t necessarily have the world’s fastest internet service provider or PC. While downloading BG3, if you happen to notice that your loading speeds are especially slow, going into your Steam settings and changing your download region might help you speed things up a bit. Related: Baldur’s Gate 3 download file size: How big is it? The quickest way to get there in the Steam client is by going to your Library and then the “Downloads” section. In the right part of the screen, you should see a cog that represents your download settings. Clicking that button will open a pop-out menu that shows you exactly what region you’re downloading from. Depending on where you are and where your download region is, you could consider changing your download region, especially if there’s one that is closer to where you are. If you’re not operating a new PC, 122 GB might take a lot of time to download, so bumping up your download speeds a smidge could make a huge difference. Related: Baldur’s Gate 3 devs want you to completely nuke your early access progress before launch Don’t spend too much time worrying about it, though. In order to change regions, you will need to restart Steam, meaning you’ll have to temporarily stop your download. So unless you think it will make an enormous difference, it might be worthwhile to just wait the extra couple of minutes and continue the download on a slightly slower server region. Require less energy to maintain a consistent temperature, leading to lower energy consumption and reduced operating costs.2. Temperature controlHydronic systems offer better temperature control. With hot water, it is easier to achieve and maintain a specific temperature range throughout the building. Steam systems, on the other hand, often produce varying temperatures due to fluctuations in pressure and distribution, making it more challenging to achieve precise control.3. SafetyHot water systems are generally considered safer than steam systems. They operate at lower pressures than steam, reducing the risk of explosions or other pressure-related accidents. Additionally, they do not carry the same level of burn hazards as steam, which can cause severe injuries if not handled properly.4. MaintenanceHot water heating systems tend to have simpler designs and require less maintenance compared to steam systems. Steam systems involve complex components such as steam traps, pressure regulators, and condensate return lines, which can be more prone to malfunctions and require regular inspection and upkeep. Hot water systems, with fewer moving parts, are typically easier to maintain and troubleshoot.5. Noise reductionHot water heating systems generally operate more quietly than steam systems. Steam moving through pipes can create hissing, banging, or other disruptive noises. In contrast, hot water systems produce minimal noise, promoting a quieter and more comfortable environment for building occupants.Cons of Hot Water Systems1. Limited Heat Carrying CapacityHot water systems have a lower heat carrying capacity compared to steam systems. This means that they may not be suitable for large-scale industrial applications that require high heat loads. Steam systems are better equipped to handle such demanding heating requirements.2. Slower Heating ResponseHot water systems generally have slower heating response times compared to steam systems. Steam has a higher heat transfer rate, allowing for quicker warming of spaces. In contrast, hot water takes longer to heat up, which can be a disadvantage in situations where rapid heating is necessary.ControlsBeing that these systems operate very differently, it’s important to verify that the control you have is designed to manage your heating system properly. The Entech Stealth is one control that can adapt to all heating system types. Using advanced AI and a network of sensors, it will maximize the benefits of your heating system to provide the most comfortable and energy efficient heat possible. Additionally, EntechPro specialists monitor the boiler, point out inefficiencies and ensure that optimal settings are in place.ConclusionIn summary, steam and hot water systems each have their pros and cons. Ultimately, understanding the heating system in your building is important for proper maintenance and upkeep of your boiler. You can then ensure that you have a good boiler control that is maximizing the benefits of your system. Contact us to learn how you can startSteam Download Slower Than Internet - Google Sites
