Free media has a responsibility to share information and help explain that information to the public in a clear, accessible way. The media also has a duty to hold people in power accountable. The Catholic Archdiocese of Boston sex abuse scandal is a clear example of the media’s role in protecting human rights.The Boston Globe Spotlight Team exposes Catholic Church sex abuseOn January 6th, 2002, The Boston Globe’s Spotlight Team published the first part of an investigation into sex abuse in the Catholic church. The article revealed that while aware of a priest’s record of sex abuse against children, the archdiocese moved him from parish to parish for over three decades. Since the mid-1990s, more than 130 people had come forward, but no action was taken. The Globe’s coverage exploded into the national news, leading to the criminal prosecutions of five Catholic priests. Empowered, other victims came forward. The story continued to balloon as other investigations and allegations exposed a long history of abuse and cover-ups in large dioceses across the United States. It was clear that the case in Boston was not an aberration.More survivors came forward around the world. And it will make it hard to ignore in any route you play afterwards. Just tugs at the old heartstrings.Dramatic Ending seems like an anime ending.Romantic Ending is a steamy ending. I loved both and couldn’t choose. C’est magnifique!This is where it gets kinda spoiler-y, you have been warned. It’s revealed somewhat early on, but Nagito was actually adopted and it’s not just a prop of his background, it actually is something that effects his character and his personality. You find out that Nagi is struggling with his mother leaving him at an orphanage and trying to find where he fits in. He is also the most ‘down to earth’ guy out of REVANCE, but that also makes him feel slightly excluded because he doesn’t produce the ‘idol aura’ that the others do, but that’s what makes him so enchanting; to the MC, the fans, and myself. Spoilers OVERRECOMMENDED?This does start out a little slowly, but in a good way, I promise. If you’re in love with a good character arc as well as a more down to earth romance, you will adore Nagito as much as I do.
