(I already posted this at another forum, so I hope you don't mind me posting here as well...)If someone's looking to fix issues with the Weather Gadget in Windows 7, I hope this helps you...Sooo, I finally got it figured out - at least the thing that's helped me. I was beginning to get worried, since everyone else seemed to fix their problem easily, e.g. pressing the x button by the location list didn't work for me at all. Even when I'd try to enter a location, I'd have to type two letters for the text to get recognized at all. Only then would I be able to select and delete the 'Search for location' text and type my own location - although not being able to click the Search button or anything. I was really getting super frustrated by that time - as someone pointed out (on one of the dozens of forums I've checked), it's the small things that drive us wild, so I just couldn't let it go. I've tried several other gadgets, but they didn't work either. I thought it had something to do with the Language and Location settings, but that wasn't it. It wasn't the Work Offline option on Internet Explorer either. It just didn't seem to work whatever I did... Not to prolong my rant, here goes! Note that, naturally, I can't guarantee this will work for everyone, so please read the whole thing (and eventual posts after this one) before proceeding!Seems that my mshtml.dll file was corrupt and needed to be dealt with. You have to be authorized to delete the file, but unfortunately I can't remember how to do that exactly. I guess you can google it or someone can maybe find a good explanation.I remember searching mshtml.dll from the Start menu; right-clicking it and changing the Security options so that the User (whichever name you've got there) has got the Full Control option checked which will enable you to delete the corrupted mshtml.dll file. I'm sorry, I don't really remember how exactly I did it - I just ran into. On this page you can download Remember My Location and install on Windows PC. 2025-04-20Probably right. I have all my books downloaded and in nice little categories. Amazon insists on keeping some books I have which are part of a series out of categories. I may delete those books, just because. I really hate the new software. I usually read in bed, and if I have to do anything, I have to put my glasses on and turn up the brightness.Yes, I will delete those books, and load a bunch of other books on. Because I wanted to clean everything up last night and wanted to read Dopesick, I couldn't remember where I categorized that. Nonfiction, no. I put it in suspense and thrillers. That is the problem with categories. I just use search to find a book. It's much faster than collections (unless I remember nothing about title or author, but in that case I look it up in Calibre.) Collections on eink readers are pretty unwieldy. I've given up on them on my Oasis. Too many books and collections become kind of pointless. 11-21-2021, 05:57 PM #9 Grand Sorcerer Posts: 5,074 Karma: 18051062 Join Date: Nov 2009 Location: UK Device: Kindle Scribe, PW SE & Kindle 2022, Kobo Libra 2 Quote: Originally Posted by Sydney's Mom Arg!!! Just remember the downloading and syncing will drain your battery so best to keep it topped up. 11-21-2021, 06:01 PM #10 Grand Sorcerer Posts: 5,074 Karma: 18051062 Join Date: Nov 2009 Location: UK Device: Kindle Scribe, PW SE & Kindle 2022, Kobo Libra 2 Quote: Originally Posted by Sirtel I just use search to find a book. 2025-04-09A mess, so it might be better to start fresh and make new ones or download ones that I liked. LR now comes with a TON of pre-sets, most of them kind of useless, but some are really good.Anyway, some cleaning up, fresh copies of LR and PS, and it's pushed me into a little more discipline on my organization. #2 Your preset are usually stored in the global location for all catalogs. I did it through LR. When I'd highlight the images to delete, it gives you an option. "Remove from Lightroom" or "Delete from Disc". I had thought deleting from disc would also remove it from Lightroom. But, no. The image is gone from the disc, but the metadata is still in LR and can't now find
