How to Revert OBS to the Previous Version - Hollyland

#1 Hello everyone. So last 2 weeks I had problems, stream just stopped streaming like no internet, NDI Source stopped, sometimes webcam also stopped for a bit and after maybee 30 seconds all good back. So I removed OBS Studio, Streamelements LIVE plugin, NDI plugin. I removed residues in appdata, etc., restarted PC, reinstalled back all three, restart PC and open, configure from scratch just to test NDI signal from gaming laptop and I saw, that OBS is using only about 30MB/s (Task manager) on laptop. Tried sending from PC to Laptop, all good smooth and above 100MB/s. Installed XSplit on laptop for test only for NDI, it works like a charm to PC (arround 140MB/s). So I did same reinstall process as on PC before, again same. Tried without NVENC, no joy. When it is only green color as background in scene on OBS laptop, it uses about 6MB/s of network, with game arround 30MB/s.So in few words... before reinstalling on PC, NDI from OBS laptop to PC was in normall range of 140MB/s, while after reinstall on PC, only arround 30MB/s no matter what I do.Laptop LOG: Windows 10 x64, OBS Studio 23.2.1 (64-bit), Laptop ASUS ROG G752VL, Graphic Nvidia gtx 965M, ... Issue is for NDI lag now, I need to fix it (stream or not is the same) #5 Without a streaming session OBS does not write performance data to a logfile, so all it shows is the app starting and shutting down. In other words, I can't stream because OBS doesn't capture the window of the game I'm trying to stream! It's very frustrating and using "Display Capture" kills framerate and I don't want to use that anyway. How do we fix this? Is there a fix for this?If I want to go back to an older version of OBS, what is the proper way to do that without losing my settings? Here is my Log file: #2 same thing happening with me, Very frustrating, Tried every option available on the internet at this point. 6 hours on from when i started #3 Yea. The weird thing is this is happening on ALL 3 of my PCs! So it's not a one-off issue either. Definitely something with the latest update that has caused this. Can anyone from OBS chime in? #4 Bump.. having the same issue. #5 Update: Here are the things I've tried to no avail.Reinstalled OBS from scratch (i.e. deleted user settings folder and created new profile with Game Capture as only source)Rolled back OBS install to older versions - tried two different versions - 27.1.0 and 27.0.1Removed graphics driver completely with DDU and reinstalled latest Nvidia driverNone of it works - OBS does not capture the game (i.e. does not 'hook' into the game) when using Game Capture as a source. This is highly irritating so can someone from OBS please help? #6 If the game you're trying to capture uses some kind of anticheat software, it might be necessary for the game provider to update their anticheat to include the signature of the new OBS version to allow capturing the game again. As long as this doesn't happen, you need to use the previous OBS version or use display capture - display capture should work regardless of anticheat. #7 There is also the extremely likely possibility that you're running a conflicting program that is actively blocking OBS from game capturing the game. Known Conflicts OBS Studio - Free and open source software for live streaming and screen recording - obsproject/obs-studio obsproject.com #8 This turned out to be true - I've always run MSI Afterburner to monitor the stats (GPU/CPU temps, clocks etc.) and NEVER had an issue with OBS showing the OSD and using Game Capture. Somehow, after this latest update with OBS, that has broken and Game Capture only seems to work if I close MSI Afterburner (and RTSS) completely.I wonder if RTSS and/or MSI Afterburner need to be updated after the latest OBS update - I'll post on the Guru3D Forums as well to let them know of this issue. However, I am now able to use Game Capture without MSI Afterburner so at least it more or less works.Thank you. My whole computer begins to heat up, fans run on high and everything begins to operate so... obsproject.com #5 As a comparison, here is my screenshot for my streaming today. I used OBS 26.1.2 today. #6 Same here - I've noticed a big difference - CPU load up higher and skipped frames from encoding too. have gone down from 1080 to 936p adn now 720 to try to survive. need to figure out how to roll back to previous version if you've not done it already you can just re install the older versions over the top, the new 27.1 still eats cpu when you use stinger transitions etc #7 if you've not done it already you can just re install the older versions over the top, the new 27.1 still eats cpu when you use stinger transitions etc Ah thanks. I've just downgraded my output res to 720p to cope with the worse CPU usage now, and spunked £2.5k on a mega-PC to run the stream from in future - at the level of mad stuff I'm asking of OBS it's just a bit too much for the Mac version to handle, on anything other than a Mac Pro and I'm not moving that upstairs 3 times a week for my streams lol. Thanks for the advice though - things are stable for me now, just lower res but that's a good idea if i wasn't jumping ship to PC in a few weeks :-) #8 I noticed this as I started at OBS 24 then tested 25, 26, etc.... In fact, on my 2015 MB Pro 15" I left it at OBS 24.0.6 and it worked perfectly well. Didn't need any of the upgraded features, and it used way less CPU.For me I'm running our church services with

Plugins and re-launch OBS temporarily. Then, re-enable the plugins one by one. For each plugin you activate, test OBS to pinpoint the plugin causing this issue. Alternatively, check if the plugins are compatible with the OBS version you’re using. You can either visit the OBS forums or the plugin’s developer page to confirm this. Another method is to check if you’re using outdated versions of the plugins. You should also clear the plugin cache or uninstall the plugins you don’t need or use. Internet Connection IssuesWeak or Unstable Internet Connection: If none of the problems mentioned above are causing your connection issues, we should channel our suspicion to your device. If your internet connection is weak or fluctuating, it will affect your OBS connection to Twitch. You can diagnose this by testing your internet’s upload speed with a speed test tool. If the speed doesn’t meet the requirements, that could be the problem. ISP Throttling Bandwidth: Sometimes, the internet connection issue is not from your device but from your internet service provider. Use the speed test tool to assess your upload and download speeds. Then, compare the results with the speeds your ISP promised in the subscription plan. If there’s an obvious difference between them, we can assume that this is what’s causing the issue. Steps to Troubleshoot the ProblemVerifying Stream Key Check for Typos and Ensure the Stream Key is Active.Log in to Twitch on your web browser.Click on your profile picture at the top right corner, and a drop-down menu will appear.Select ‘Creator Dashboard’ from the list.Find the left sidebar and tap ‘settings.’Select ‘Stream’ from the settings menu and scroll till you see ‘Stream Key & Preferences.’Click on ‘Show Key’ to reveal your stream key.Copy the entire stream key.Launch OBS Studio on your PC.Go to settings at the bottom-right corner. From the menu, select ‘Stream’ from the left sidebar.Paste the stream key you copied from Twitch in the field provided for it.Inspect the key to ensure it’s identical to what’s on Twitch.Click on ‘Apply’ and then ‘OK’ to save the changes on OBS.Then, use the ‘Start Streaming’ button to test your connection and check for errors. At the same time, check your Twitch dashboard to see if your stream is live.Generate a New KeyRepeat steps 1 to 5.Look for ‘Primary Stream Key’ and click on ‘Reset’ and then confirm. This will invalidate the previous stream key.Repeat steps 6 to

Hi, I've only been streaming a few weeks but I love OBS. I'm also on Manjaro Linux and it's been my primary OS for over 3 years. This post is for anyone having trouble with OBS on Manjaro Linux, especially the missing "browser" source. I just spent 3 days installing and uninstalling various flavors of OBS, searching forums, watching Youtube videos, and being generally frustrated. Also, I hope the people at OBS will read this and consider supporting Manjaro. I'll have more about that at the end of this post.Below are the four types of OBS installs I tried. ONLY THE LAST ONE has everything I wanted. TLDR; skip to number 4.1. Default InstallI originally installed OBS from the default "Add/Remove Software" interface. If you search for OBS, this is the one that comes up first and has the OBS logo. It worked fine until I wanted to use the "browser" source, which does not exist in that installation.Installed using Pamac (Add/Remove):- OBS Studio (obs-studio) 27.2.4-2 - Repository: Community - Packager: Christian Hesse - Build Date: Mon 11 Jul 2022 04:35:15 PM EDTPLUGINS INSTALLED:obs-downstream-keyerobs-streamfxNOTESProgram runs fine, both plugins work perfectly, I've done about 20 hours of streaming on Twitch over 3 weeks. There is NO "browser" source in the menu, so I can't use any of that functionalityThere is NO Twitch account integration (which is fine). I'm using my stream key2. Flatpak InstallUninstalled the previous OBS and all plugins, rebooted.I already had Flatpak installed. I've used it for something else.Installed OBS using flatpak in a terminal:$ flatpak install flathub com.obsproject.StudioThis installed OBS Studio 27.2.4 (how is this different from 27.2.4-2 ??)PLUGINS INSTALLEDNONE.The plugins I want (StreamFX, Downstream Keyer) are not available. Installing the plugins from AUR doesn't work.NOTESProgram runs fine. I was able to import my scenes from my previous install."browser" source IS AVAILABLE and works!! I was able to live stream my phone's camera feed over wifi to OBS.Twitch integration works! I was able to add docks for my Twitch chat and Twitch stats. At this point, I've streamed with 2 different installations and EACH has pros and cons.Twitch integration is nice
