Based on risk [13].HEALTH RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH PREDIABETESPrediabetes is not a benign condition. Both metabolic and vascular abnormalities can begin at levels less than the upper limit of what is considered normal fasting blood glucose. Most cases of type 2 diabetes are preceded by a period of blood sugar in the intermediate range of blood glucose. Many people with IFG or IGT already have microvascular complications normally associated with diabetes. Prediabetes is also associated with obesity, abnormal cholesterol, hypertension, and an increased risk for cardiovascular disease.PROGRESSION TO TYPE 2 DIABETESStatistics show that having prediabetes increases the risk for developing type 2 diabetes. For people with normal blood glucose, the progression to type 2 diabetes is about 5% [6]. The progression to diabetes for people with IGT is 6% to 10% per year. For persons with both IFG and IGT, the incidence of progression to type 2 diabetes is as high as 65% in six years. According to the American College of Endocrinology and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (ACE/AACE), IGT should be considered a more important risk factor for progression to diabetes than IFG [6].METABOLIC SYNDROME AND HEART DISEASEApproximately one-half of people with IGT meet the criteria designated for metabolic syndrome. Once known as "syndrome X," metabolic syndrome is a cluster of risk factors associated with overweight and obesity that produces insulin resistance. In patients with insulin resistance, the body produces insulin, but receptor sites on liver, muscle, and adipose tissue are ineffective. When insulin resistance is present, more

Glucose levels reach 162 mg/dL [10].RISK FACTORS FOR DIABETES AND PREDIABETESA number of risk factors have been identified for diabetes and prediabetes and are the same for either condition. Some risk factors are fixed or unchangeable, such as age or family history. Other risk factors are related to lifestyle choices and are therefore modifiable. The ADA has an online test that may be helpful for patients to become more aware of their personal risk for type 2 diabetes. The test may be accessed at [23].Risk factors for diabetes and prediabetes include [6]: Family history of diabetes (in a parent, brother, or sister)Previously identified as having IGT, IFG, and/or metabolic syndromeBelonging to certain racial and ethnic groups, including non-Hispanic Black Americans, Hispanic/Latino Americans, Asian Americans, Pacific Islanders, American Indians, and Alaska NativesHistory of gestational diabetesWomen who have delivered a baby weighing 9 pounds or morePolycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)OverweightSedentary lifestyleHigh blood pressure (140/90 mm Hg or more) or being treated for high blood pressureHDL cholesterol less than 35 mg/dLTriglyceride level greater than 250 mg/dLA history of cardiovascular diseaseReceiving antipsychotic therapy for schizophrenia or bipolar disorderHISTORY OF GESTATIONAL DIABETESGestational diabetes refers to diabetes that develops during pregnancy and ceases following the postpartum period. It complicates approximately 2% to 10% of all pregnancies [24]. Gestational diabetes occurs more frequently among Asian Americans, Hispanic/Latino Americans, and non-Hispanic Black Americans [25]. Other risk factors include obesity, a personal history of gestational diabetes, or a family history of diabetes. Testing for gestational diabetes should take place at. When I choose the Downloads folder in the Tree, the right pane only displays large icons with no column info. I think it's because the fonts and background are the same color (black). I can't see where to fix that. All other active panes show just fine in the D drive. Why is it just the C:\Downloads folder that's not displaying correctly? Also, I find the Settings area (F12) very confusing. I've worked with it for a while and it seems there's a million places to set things. Maybe it's just me but it's as though the Settings screen design is for advanced users only.Anyway, thanks for the help.EditHere is a screen shot of what's happening acre Posts: 49 Joined: 17.12.2017, 17:28 Re: Downloads folder display issue #2 Post by acre » 07.11.2023, 04:39 Hi again all,I found the problem. I was playing with some different color ideas a few weeks ago, in an attempt to design my own dark theme. I changed the font color to the same dark color as the background color in the Settings > View > File/Folder list > Color by file type area. It's now fixed and works perfectly. Thanks to all for reading my post... Who is online Users browsing this forum: Bing [Bot] and 1 guest
