Run My Route - Running Maps

First time user so excuse the stupid question....I've down loaded a map from this site and tried to run MapInstall, but it seems that MapInstall cannot find the down loaded map. Where do I need to place the map for MapInstall to find it. The specific error message is "No unlocked maps were found for this device." Any thoughts? Thanks for the help.Edited: thread title Thanks for the reply, maybe I'm not getting it or maybe I asked the question poorly....It is my understanding from the tutorials I looked at that maps have to be run through MapInstall prior to BaseCamp seeing the map.I downloaded wytopo11.gmapi. It is in my downloads folder. I open MapInstall. MapInstall does not see the wytopo11/gmapi file. I thought I had the map in the wrong place. From your response I think that maybe I do not have to run MapInstall? I went to "How To Open Maps In Garmin BaseCamp"Author: Dan Blomberg | Last updated October 1st, 2011 at 07:14pmMany of the maps downloaded from this site or purchased from Garmin or other websites can be viewed on your computer via Garmin Mapsource or Garmin BaseCamp. Hi, developer(s). How are you? This game is fantastic! My brother and I loved this game so much. We kept screaming, wanting to win so bad XD This is the only app that my brother’s broken IPad can play. If you haven’t try or play this app, do it! Not many ads, just sometimes :D The problem is that languages is not enough! Please add a Chinese language, because my friend and I are playing this game and it's hard to explain the meanings to her! So, I hope you add more languages :D I also have a suggestion: You can add like a City Map, Water Theme Park Map or a kingdom map, these looks like it doesn’t fit the theme, so you can add colourful colours to it, if you want to. I also have some animals ideas, so you can add some. Maybe like a cow, pig or a snake. Thank you for reading, bye! Some ads are inappropriate I think fun run should add some more

Capital letter S!) The program shall now open (see window below) Navigate to tab SPLIT, choose directory c:\GARMIN\FAM_378 (my example), give map a new name, enter the FID and PID, PID = 1, FID = the number you have retrieved in step 6, check compile preview map Click SPLIT ALL and wait for the process to finish working (hopefully without any errors) (There is another version of the program for this MAP extraction called gpsdaemon but I don't use it.) Close GMapTool and navigate to folder C:\GARMIN\FAM_number (my exapmle c:\GARMIN\FAM_378) Check that the files mapset00.mp and install.bat exist in this folder Now use the program called cGpsMapper to insert this 'FOLDER' into MAPSOURCE. Extract all contents (cGpsMapsper) into the C:\GARMIN\FAM_number (my exapmle c:\GARMIN\FAM_378) Go to Command prompt and run INSTALL.BAT (or double click in Windows exporer) If the maps are locked use the tool UnlockWizard.exe in c:\GARMIN folder to unlock them. (tool should come bundeled with MapSource) Use JetMouse_Garmin_kgen to produce unlock code (choose custom mapset, my example 378) Open the MAPSOURCE, the map should now appear inside (just zoom to 1km) Other utilities SendMap.Go BACK to prevous page.

The military use them, sailors use them, motorists use them, town planners and draughtsmen use them, and still, just a few walkers use them. You run a little wheel along a route, a path, a road, a river, a line on a drawing, then either read off the result or measure against a standard.WaywisersThe first England and Wales road atlas was published in 1675. This seminal work, Britannia, comprised 100 maps and was created by map maker John Ogilby. It was the first to use a scale of one inch to the mile and to use the Statute mile of 1760 yards. Each vertical strip map in the atlas showed compass orientation and distances in miles and furlongs. Such accurate measurements had been made possible by surveyors measuring the roads. A favoured and accurate method was walking the ground with a surveyor’s measuring wheel, otherwise known as a perambulator or waywiser. Paying homage, both man and instrument were depicted in Ogilby’s Britannia, shown on the frontispiece and on two maps within.Face of surveyor’s waywiser" data-image-caption="Face of surveyor’s waywiser" data-medium-file=" data-large-file=" width="695" height="691" src=" alt="Face of surveyor's waywiser" srcset=" 695w, 1390w, 150w, 300w, 768w, 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 695px) 100vw, 695px">Face of surveyor’s waywiserSurveyor and his waywiser are shown on plate number 21- the Road from London to Holyhead. c1698" data-image-caption="Surveyor and his waywiser are shown on plate number 21- the Road from London to Holyhead. c1698" data-medium-file=" data-large-file=" width="800" height="543" src=" alt="Surveyor and his waywiser are shown on plate number 21- the Road from London to Holyhead. c1698" srcset=" 800w, 150w, 300w, 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px">Surveyor and waywiser are shown at the head of Ogilby’s ‘The Road from London to Holyhead’ map. c1698The idea of map measurers is an old one, probably as old as ‘to scale’ maps themselves. Beyond simple calipers, the earliest of map measurers, or opisometers, were very simple affairs indeed- little wheels on a threaded spindle that could be pushed along a line. With the wheel wound to one end of the spindle, the operator can run the wheel along any line on a map, and, if aware of the scale to which the map is produced, work out by the number of revolutions the distance travelled. More expensive designs of map measurer that incorporated a
