Lynx Software Technologies has announced updated APIs for the LynxOS-178 operating system that meet FACE (Future Airborne Capability Environment) 3.0 specifications, with full conformance certification to the FACE 3.0 technical standard expected by late summer 2020.The FACE standard, first supported by Lynx in 2014, facilitates common approaches for using open standards with avionics systems. FACE-certified products help lower implementation costs, accelerate time-to-field for new capabilities, promote design reuse, and ease portability of applications. Lynx is a long-term member of the FACE consortium and has ensured LynxOS-178 compliance with all iterations of the technical specification on an ongoing basis. LynxOS-178 support for Intel, Arm and PowerPC architectures enables FACE applications to be used across multiple platforms.“LynxOS-178 combines high performance and reliability with industry standards that promote openness and flexibility,” said Pavan Singh, vice president of Product Management at Lynx. “By supporting the latest updates to the FACE technical standard, LynxOS-178 enables avionics developers to deliver systems quickly and cost-effectively that provide optimum protection and security for operators.”As a native POSIX, hard real-time partitioning operating system, LynxOS-178 uniquely supports POSIX APIs that ensure more efficient interactions between software components while preserving reliability and ensuring safe software execution. The latest version of LynxOS-178 has been validated with the LYNX MOSA.ic software framework based on the LynxSecure separation kernel hypervisor. Systems can run multiple LynxOS-178 guests independently to benefit from greater flexibility and strong isolation of applications for increased reliability, as well as accelerating system validation, debug and integration. Web browsers offer a user interface that allows people to navigate webpages. These days, they offer a great deal more functionality than simply browsing. When there are so many different web browsers available, it can be difficult to determine which one is the best one to use. Let’s discuss it today.A Brief History On Web BrowsersDuring the 1990s, there were three most popular browsers that had the majority of the market share. Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, Netscape, and Opera were the three browsers in question. There were browsers that were rather old, such as Lynx and MAC Internet Explorer. As is the case at the present day, the majority of people were using Windows as their operating system, which explained why Internet Explorer had the highest usage share. The transition from Netscape to Mozilla Firefox occurred at the beginning of the 2000s, with the latter using the same source code as the former. How To Update The Operating System Of The Lynx R1?

The most common way to make a web query or visit our favorite websites is through the use of a web browser, of which we have a vast repertoire of them in Linux, and there are all kinds of them.In almost all Linux distributions, a default web browser is usually included within them, although the selection of this web browser is often not to the liking of several users either by performance, functionality, or a large number of resources it absorbs.Already on more than one occasion, I have mentioned the high use of resources that Firefox makes in Ubuntu and not to belittle it, it is an excellent Navigator, practical and with everything necessary to have a pleasant navigation session.Even though Mozilla developers have long been given just to add unnecessary functions and fatten up the browser to such a degree as to become a nightmare for Team resources. That’s why today we’re going to talk about a browser even though it’s a little different from what we usually know, the browser We’re going to talk about is Lynx.Surfing on the Internet with Lynx from the TerminalLynx is a web browser that, unlike the most popular ones, is used by a terminal, and navigation is by text mode. Lynx can turn out to be quite an attractive tool for terminal lovers and even for people who like to maximize the optimization of the use of system resources. We cannot deny that browsing the Internet through the use of a terminal entirely in text mode can be an excellent discovery for most new users, and even something scarce for some, while it is also experienced retrograde to the older ones.Previously many years ago, to access the web pages t, his whole process was done via the command line, through Unix terminals or even the old DOS. Today, the vast network is remarkably evolved, with increasingly dynamic and resource-filled sites. The Lynx as a browser that runs entirely in text mode and is used through the command line, this software can be a right solution for systems based on the console, or even in servers if it is necessary to consult the Internet. How to use the Lynx browser?Navigation is done using the keyboard arrow keys, which serve to scroll between the search fields, links, and other information. To start using the browser just typing on the terminal the following command:1 | lynxOr they can do a quick search, for example:1 | lynx GoogleTo exit the browser, simply type ctrl +c or simply press the letter Q on the keyboard. Although the browser is based on the text mode of the terminal, if we are working on a realistic environment, we can make use of the mouse to place ourselves on links or text that interests us to be able to access them. No more, I can only say that the use of this browser for the first few times can be a little weird, but it doesn’t stop being a utility is fairly. The bobcat (left) and the lynx look very similar, but there are subtle differences that can help tell them apart. Wikimedia Commons (CC By SA 3.0)/HowStuffWorks Taxonomists work in mysterious ways. According to them, everyone on this Earth — from your tattooed next-door neighbor and his blue-haired girlfriend to devout Buddhists and sherpas on the other side of the world — belongs to a single species called Homo sapiens. Yet animals that look like near mirror images of each other are grouped as separate species. Take the bobcat and lynx, for instance. The former is a medium-sized cat with long, tufted ears and a short, bobbed tail, while the latter is, well, a medium-sized cat with long, tufted ears and a short, bobbed tail. Yet they got slapped with different names and assigned to different species. So what gives? Believe it or not, there's a method to the madness. While bobcats and lynxes are separate species, they do belong to the same genus, the Lynx genus. There are four different species belonging to this group — three of which share the family name: the Eurasian lynx, the Spanish (or Iberian) lynx and the Canadian lynx. The fourth member, the most common cat native to North America, is the previously mentioned bobcat. The Eurasian lynx (the most numerous and widespread of the four species) can be found throughout western Europe and northern Asia, while the Spanish lynx (the rarest of the four) is found only in Spain and Portugal. The Canadian lynx lives primarily in Canada and a handful of northern U.S. states including Maine, Minnesota, Montana, Wyoming and Washington. While the three species bearing the family name have the bobcat outnumbered in terms of global spread, the bobcat dominates the continent of North America. That's because the lynx prefers forested areas since that's where its main source of food, the snowshoe hare, lives. The bobcat tolerates a more varied habitat — from marshes and swampy areas in the southern part of the continent, to desert and scrub in the western regions to mountainous, forested areas in the north. The only area where the Canadian lynx and bobcat coexist is along the U.S.-Canada border. A lynx has larger feet and longer legs than a bobcat to help it navigate the snow common in its range. Keith Williams/Flickr (CC BY 2.0) Bobcats and Lynxes: Putting the 'Wild' in Wildcat Since even the three species of lynx vary somewhat in regards to size and appearance, it can be difficult to make any wide generalizations about differences among them and bobcats. For instance, a subspecies of Eurasian lynx (called the Siberian lynx) can weigh up to 84 pounds (38 kilograms) — much more than the average lynx weight of 18 to 60 pounds (8 to 27 kilograms) [source: San Diego Zoo]. Nevertheless, differences do exist. To begin with, the bobcat looks a bit more like an overgrown house cat than a lynx does. With extra-long tufts of fur on its ears and a shaggy
