#1 Hi all,let me explain my setup and what I want to do:PC 1 / Win10 (IP: 192.168.1.114): OBS installed, with many sources, works like a charm =)​​PC 2 / Win10 (IP: 192.168.1.113): VLC Installed, but can not view stream from OBS, because I don't know the URL, Protocol and port.​​What I want is to make PCs in my network able to view the "live/mixed output, result" of OBS.I thought, couldn't be so hard ... but:What I understood is, that I need an rtpM server, so that I can view OBS stream with VLC player from that rtMp server which is "filled" from OBS.But I also read the article, the title was analogously " ... OBS Stream from one to another pc ..." where you can record and then watch with VLCI followed this tutorial, but VLC player seemed to play, but the screeen was black.So generally,I want any PC with VLC in my network (PC2 - PC n) to be able to watch the live stream from OBS.I would prefer the solution without the rtmp server, which is PC1 (OBS) PC2 (VLC player)But could anyone enlighten me, what are the advantages and the disadvantages of:Viewing stream with VLC player from rtmp Server PC1 (OSB) -> PC ? (RTMP SRV) Viewing with Vlc, by not starting stream in OBS, but starting recording.Please bear with me, I am just getting things sorted ... ;-)BTW:Windows firewall are OFF on both PCs.I did not find posts or something on Google, that would help me for my specific setup,maybe because I have a different understanding of how things (should) work, or just because I am using the wrong terms. I swear I caught a glimpse of the UAD pointing fingers at me and laughing (although this cannot be proven)I decide that enough is enough (and with a mixdown session booked for only a few hours away), the UAD card goes back into the old PC and works perfectly (I was kinda thinking that it was going to lock me out completely, so that was nice).I was wondering if anyone knows the correct procedure for transplanting a card from one PC to another?I'm guessing that my card is tied to my old pc (via some form of hardware security DRM robots that live in the UAD) and that I need to somehow remove this.I had thought about the Transferring Cards option, but it seems strange to me that I'd have to transfer it to myself (plus this takes a few days to complete and I can't accomodate the downtime).If anyone knows the secret spell or incantation I have to speak to enable my UAD on my new PC, I'd be eternally gratefull if you'd share!Anyone? BUT i'm confused about why you would need to... meaning that i should have them. i opened the project in Live 8 and searched for missing files which replaced hundreds that were missing. so i installed the Live 7 Legacy pack which gave me several more. after all that i was only missing those in the list in my OP. of course, they're the main drum beat i hate to put you through the trouble if i'm sitting on them and Live just refuses to find them. your post gives me more to chew on... i'll see what i can get together and if i come up short i'll definitely take you up on that. maybe they're on my Suite 8 install discs and i missed them during the switch from PC to Mac. 1000 thanks for your kind reply! more soon... Why is it so damn hard to get installation support from Ableton?They gave me the wrong key file - but I can't contact them!...I have recently revived my old Audio/Music PC.It is an old 32-bit 2.8 GHz Pentium 4 running Windows XP 32-bit.It works fine, and has 4G RAM + 256GB HDD + som legacy pro video boards.No office, no browser, no facebook - perfect as a Music Machine.I used to use Steinberg CX as DAW, but want to give Live a try, as it has evolved much since 2005.I have a Live Lite license that came with the Behringer UCA200 that I am using with the machine.The version on the CD is 4.x, but I wanted to try out v8.x which is the last 32-bit XP version that seems to match my system specs.As the PC is Windows XP, it is a stand-alone PC not connected to the Internet for security.I therefore tried the "authorize off-line" process as described on Ableton.com.The key provided on the cover of the original installation CD didn't work, as it was "associated with different email address".Strange - I don't remember ever installing the software, I am quite sure I never created an Ableton account.Ableton won't allow me to contact tech support, as I do not have a full-version license.Erh... what?Only option was to ask for a replacement license key sent to me, by prooving I owned the HW.To do so, I needed to select type of HW, then attach a picture of the HW (+ the CD). So I did.I couldn't select the Behringer UCA200 as the HW type. Not sure if thay makes any difference.Ableton did authorised a new license for me on my account page, and I have a new key from there.But this doesn't work either, neither in 4.x or 8.xDragging the authorization file to the application gives me "No valid license found in server response".Looking on my account page, I can see the license is for 64-bit v10 on a Mac, and I have a 32-bit XP on a PC.I don't have a Mac, and I couldn't even use v10 on the machine, as it's a 32-bit CPU!I can't contact support to tell them to send me a proper license.And I can't re-request a replacement key, as I ableton.com says "I have already done this."I know it's Live Lite, and they appently don't provide teach support for this anymore.But it's more a principle thing. How on earth do I contact Ableton to tell them that they sent me the wrong license?Mail pigeons? Telepathy?(It might soon be right back to Steinberg again...)
