Nov 2, 2006 10:56 AM in response to MX235150 Now, iTunes 7.0 (the original version released) did have some bugs in it (although lots of users were problem-free). Mainly, iPods were sometimes not recognized when connected to iTunes 7.0. I had this issue as well. Then, I upgraded to iTunes 7.0.1, and the recognition issues were solved. If you ever have issues with iTunes 7, be sure to upgrade to the latest version, iTunes 7.0.2, which solves a lot of recogniztion issues with a lot of people (as well as other problems that arised with the original iTunes 7.0.) Download the latest version of iTunes 7 here -> Download iTunes 7.0.2 Also, you have to remember this: the only people that are coming on these boards are having problems. Only several of these people have issues with iTunes 7. Then: Apple sells TONS of iPods in total. Then, lots of people will upgrade to iTunes 7 for the games, movies, a new, different appearance of the program. Obviously, lots of people aren't having recognition, freezing, etc. issues with iTunes 7. The Discussions would be REALLY flooded with posts if it occured with most every user. If folks did have issues with iTunes 7.0, maybe resetting the iPod, or the Five R's (found on the main Support page) solved it for them. Overall, I would suggest giving the new iTunes a try. Since it is rare if issues arise with 7.0, and since iTunes 7.0.1 or 7.0.2 greatly reduced those problems, your "chance" at iTunes having glitches now (with version 7.0.2) will be even more reduced. If issues do come for you, there are things that you can do. That's my opinion and say on the matter. Has iTunes 7.02 fixed all the issues? I had to revert to 6 to get my 5th gen iPod working after 7 crashed it with unknown error messages that were supposedly being worked on, but I can no longer purchase video from the itunes store, so I wouldn't mind upgrading to a version of iTunes that works.
