When I choose to install itunes, I never see an option to specify which drive to install it to. However with iTunes 7 you can have the iTunes folder which contains the library files and the iTunes Music folder on another drive. Moving iTunes folder (instructions courtesy of Chris CA): 1 Quit iTunes. 2 Copy the entire iTunes folder including music to the other drive. 3 Restart iTunes holding (Shift-Windows, Option-Mac). 4 Select Choose library. Select the library in the folder you just moved. 5 Move the old iTunes folder to the trash but do not empty it. 6 Restart iTunes normally and verify the songs work. If they do, empty the trash. Well worth it I think Sep 24, 2009 4:52 AM in response to wehutty One thing that iTunes 9 broke, that hasn't been addressed in the 9.0.1 update is smart playlists not appearing in the desired sorting order on an iPhone when compared to their sorting order as they appears within iTunes: Example: You create a smart playlist of Podcasts with a playcount of 0 You sort your list of Podcasts in alphabetical order in iTunes by simply clicking on the "name" in the "name" column. - or - you click on "time" in the time column to sort your unplayed Podcasts so that the playlist sorts them by shortest first and so on. Here's the problem... In iTunes 8 the above synced playlist would appear identical on the iPhone as it did in iTunes. In other words, you could listen to your Podcast playlist in the order you desired / setup within iTunes. In iTunes 9, THIS HAS STOPPED WORKING! Is there some way to upgrade iTunes 9 be reverting back to iTunes 8? iTunes 8 just worked.
