Realistic Needs and Diseases with Hunterborn :: The Elder
Hunterborn...Such a brilliantly immersive mod. It goes well with Frostfall, Campfire and Realistic Needs & Diseases because in the wilds, you would need to hunt to survive. You would need to stalk your prey, or the predators might come along to try and kill you.Blizzards, storms and weather added by True Storms and Frostfall would make hunting more of a challenge but that's what is fun about hunting. The thrill, the chase and the climax of finally downing your prey, through whatever weather be it an evasive fox you've been tracking or a deer grazing on the grass or perhaps, you're hunting the bigger game? Mammoths, bears, tigers, elk and wolves? Oh my.Regardless of what you're hunting, Hunterborn adds elements of real hunting. You'd skin the animal for its pelt, which depending on the animal, takes time. Or perhaps you wish to haul its carcass to town ("Is that a mammoth you're hauling?!") or your camp? That would really depend on how heavy the carcass is. Wolves are easy to haul, deer and elk are a little heavier and it goes without saying that the really big game is going to slow you down for a long while. Good luck walking the distance of Whiterun to Falkreath with several animal corpses slowing you down.Another nifty thing about Hunterborn is Scrimshaw, where you can craft things with some of the items you'll retrieve from the animals. It's certainly useful and if you're sat in your tent, a blizzard or storm going I'm trying to find a couple of mods that will limit the amount of stuff I can carry for realism sake for my next playthrough. WOW there are a lot of carry weight and encumbrance mods out there! I tried loading "Realistic Carry Weight" (mod #17140) along with "Weighted Items" (mod #6630), but my encumbrance for my khajiit character went from 380/435 to 800+/215!!! So yeah maybe that was a bit too realistic for me. LOL yes I could offset this using Bandoliers and stuff, but I'm hoping to keep this somewhat simple. The requirements for the perfect combination I think are:--carry capacity should start fairly low in early levels--mod should be simple to use and monitor--configurable, hopefully via MCM--not too much scripting if possible, I have 120 other mods to account for and I don't want my system bogged down by scripts--I don't really want the encumbrance limit changed for whole classes due to compatibility problems--I'd rather get slowed down or stopped by too much weight, rather than falling over and spilling stuff everywhere!Mods I'm already using that may affect carry weight:--Bandoliers--Wet and Cold (adds backpacks I think)--RnD (realistic needs and diseases)--Camping kit of the northern ranger--Hunterborn and Hunting in Skyrim--Fishing in Skyrim--Cloaks of Skyrim--Trade and Barter--Frostfall...and i will turn off Fast Travel via the Frostfall menu. Here are some carry weight and encumbrance mods... So many to consider!Weighted Items -- INCREASE ITEM WEIGHT FOR WEIGHTLESS ITEMS, E.G. GOLD, LOCKPICKS, ARROWS...More Realistic Carrying -- WEIGHT REDUCTION FOR EQUIPPED ARMORBank of SkyrimFrostfall, Realistic Needs and Diseases, and Hunterborn
Curios: Hunterborn: Beyond Skyrim: other mods: Realistic Needs and Diseases Patch HubIf you are using Havest Overhaul Creatures, please use the dedicated version in "Optional files" section instead of the main file. This version doesn't have the RND_AnimalLoot.esp merged, so it is compatible with Harvest Overhaul Creatures. If you are only using Harvest Overhaul (without "Creatures" patches), you can use the main RND file (no conflicts).NOTE: If you are using other mods that add wells and/or new foods/drinks (ETaC, Fountains of Skyrim, Falskaar, Wyrmstooth, etc.), you still need their RND patches. You can find them on the RND original pages and/or on the Nexus as stand-alone mods.FAQQ: I know there is also RND 2, that was retired and published again. What's different?A: Both RND 2 and this provide a merged and updated version, that uses USSEP as master instead of USKP. The main difference between them is that my version of RND doesn't add new scripts, nor it brings functions like "widgets" and weight changes. Advantages are more stability, more compatibility and much less complications when uninstalling; disadvantages are obviously missing functions like widgets and so on. Both versions bring water from well functionality. Other differences area few more recipes included in my versions, the slaughterfish raw meat support and some small tweaks. Generally speaking, I created this version of RND only having strongly in mind the original mod's behaviour, as intended by its author.Q: I'm following Beyond Skyrim project, most probably they will come out with new foods and drinks. Will you provide a patch for Beyond Skyrim?A: I'm a member of Beyond Skyrim, so yes, I'll do. Indeed, a patch for Bruma is already done and working perfectly, and I will publish once Bruma will be released.Q: Why didn't you add the RND_[random-mod]-Patch.esp to this package?A: Because not. An add-on for Hunterborn that expands the variety and usefulness of the Scrimshaw feature. Compatible with Hunterborn v1.5.So you love the Hunterborn mod and rarely play Skyrim without it. But:- Do you ever wonder what to do with those extra teeth, claws, and bones that you keep finding?- Do you need weapons and armor, but hate mining and smelting ingots just to stay versatile?- Do you want to pimp out your Dragonborn with antlers, bones, skulls, and other natural-looking swag?- Do you want to make cooler toys to give to your children?- Do you want to make a magic staff, but you don't want to travel all the way to Solstheim to do it?If you answered Yes to any of those questions, I would like to invite you to see what Scrimshaw Expanded has to offer. This low-impact mod adds a variety of useful items and rudimentary weapons to Hunterborn that will help you make better use of the resources you find, and help your hunter-oriented character stay safe and stylish in the wilderness of Skyrim.WHAT THIS MOD DOESThis mod adds new recipes to the Scrimshaw ability of Hunterborn, allowing you to craft unique helmets, shields, weapons, jewelry, ingredients, and other custom items for your character. Many of these items are brand-new, too, stuff that can't be found anywhere else in Skyrim...stuff like ivory swords, Bosmer headdresses, bomemold weapons, Nordic wands, chitin weapons, and shaman staffs, all designed by some of the best mesh and texture modders on the Nexus. This mod was written for players who favor a more rural, primitive, outdoorsy, or nature-fantasy style of play, but don't want to sacrifice variety. In all, this mod adds 31 complete sets of armor (complete with helmets, shields, boots, and gauntlets), 168 new weapons, 50 new staffs, 10 wands, 40 new shields, 48 new helmets (beast race compatible), 25 new alchemy ingredients, 28 new jewelry items, 6 new headdresses, and 28 miscellaneous items. Check out the Images page for some screenshots.WHAT THIS MOD *DOES NOT* DOThis mod does not allow you to craft everything but the kitchen sink with the Scrimshaw ability. It does not let you craft clothing, tents, backpacks, books, food, or anything else that isn't predominantly made of antler, bone, chitin, ivory, or wood. While I took a lot of creative license here (swords made from mammoth tusks? I know, I know...), I did my best to be Völlerei(0) – Gesättigt(5) – Leicht Hungrig(30) – Hungrig(60) – Sehr Hungrig(120) - Am Verhungern (240)Durst: Nicht durstig (0) – Etwas durstig(40) - Durstig(80) – Sehr durstig(160) - Dehydriert (240)Schlaf: Ausgeruht(0) - Etwas müde(30) - Müde(60) – Sehr müde(120) – Völlig erschöpft (240)Nehmen wir Hunger als Beispiel.
The new animal pelts has been increased, similarly to what RND does in Skyrim. Some recipes from Beyond Skyrim are modified to include HF food like flour, milk and butter, and they can be baked using ovens instead of using a cookpot.Innkeepers can sell HF food and drinks, like those in Skyrim when using RND (Jazbay Crostata is not sold in Cyrodiil because jazbays grow only in Skyrim).Innkeepers and merchants in Cyrodiil can sell DB foods (meats) and drinks (Flin) instead of Beyond Skyrim's one.White Pine Lodge has now more harvestables near the hearth; they become active once furnished the main hall.Updates will be available as soon as new foods and drinks will be added to Beyond Skyrim. The aim of this RND extension is that you would really feel "as you never have added something not fully integrated with your game" by playing Beyond Skyrim. All the RND functions have been carefully extended to the new lands so that you would feel "at home" even in these foreign regions. As lore-friendly and immersive as possible. And this mod is not a replacement for the Smithing skill. The weapons and armor that you create with Scrimshaw cannot be improved at a grindstone or workbench, and you do not gain Smithing experience for using Scrimshaw. In creating this expansion, I tried to stay as true to Hunterborn's original concept as possible: you can use it to create hunting gear and survive in the wild, but you will need to go on quests and build your Smithing skill up if you want to do more than just survive. This mod is not a cheat mod, either. You can create new and interesting items in the game, but nothing that you make with Scrimshaw will be more powerful or easier to obtain than anything else in the game. You might be able to make enough money to buy yourself some food and maybe a room at an inn, but it won't make you filthy rich or let you spam low-quality items for fast profit.REQUIREMENTSSkyrim Special EditionHunterbornCONSOLE COMPATIBILITYScrimshaw Expanded will NOT be released to any console formats, nor will it be posted to Bethesda.net in any format. This mod contains custom assets that were created by other modders, and permission was granted to distribute them only on the Nexus. If you see this mod available for download anywhere else, please report it.TL;DR: I do not have permission to export this mod to Xbox or PlayStation. Thank you for understanding, and for respecting the community.MOD COMPATIBILITY AND CONFLICTSThis mod is compatible with the newest version of Hunterborn SE. Scrimshaw Expanded mod will overwrite some of the new textures for the hunting knives, and my mammoth hide armor doesn't use Fur Plate like the other armor recipes do, but these are the only issues I have found. This mod does not add or modify scripts, so it should be compatible with any mod that is compatible with Hunterborn. Exceptions are always a possibility, however, and if you find a mod that might not be compatible with this one, please let me know and I'll list them below.FUTURE PLANSWhen the new version of Hunterborn is released, I will rebuild this mod to get more use from its new Hunter skill tree. REUSE AND CREDITSI could not have made this mod without help from some of the best texture and mesh modders on the Nexus. If you endorse this.
