Frozen tails will appear in the Arrangement as crosshatched regions located adjacent to their corresponding clips. They are treated by Live as separate, “temporary“ clips that disappear when unfrozen, since the effect is then calculated in real time. Therefore, when moving a frozen clip in the Arrangement, you will usually want to select the second, frozen tail clip as well, so that the two remain together. For frozen Session clips, only two loop cycles are included in the frozen clip, which means that clips with unlinked clip envelopes may play back differently after two loop cycles when frozen.Dragging a frozen clip to the drop area in the Session View or Arrangement View will create a new frozen track containing that clip. If a clip is partially selected in the Arrangement, the new frozen track will contain the selected portion of the clip only. The samples generated by the Freeze Track command are stored in the Current Project folder under /Samples/Processed/Freeze. If the Set has not yet been saved, the folder location will be specified by the Temporary Folder. Please note that freeze files for tracks that contain an External Instrument or External Audio Effect will be discarded immediately when unfreezing. You can also decide to flatten frozen tracks, which completely replaces the original clips and devices with their audible result. The Flatten command is available from the Edit menu.Besides providing an opportunity to conserve CPU resources on tracks containing a large number of devices, the Track Freeze command simplifies sharing projects between computers.THERMALRIGHT FROZEN INFINITY CPU Cooler Installation
I have a decently built PC I use for light gaming. I don't play too many resource demanding games which is what has me in a pickle. When running two or three programs at a time (ex. Definitely be the board then? Just want to make sure. #29 Yes, i'd say so. The board itself, just with a known good PSU connected, should boot once and then stay on the CPU LED without rebooting. #30 Sounds good. I'll try tonight. Thanks! #31 Okay so I took out the CPU and it just stays on now, Led obviously lit up because no CPU. Fans turned off but the board is still on. Would that mean it's most likely the CPU? #32 Uh oh. Reinstalled the CPU and now it's not rebooting anymore. Just frozen on CPU LED. #33 Hmm, so it's inconclusive in the end. At this point you would need to test with a different CPU (12th-14th gen, doesn't matter which, even a Celeron). Is there a PC shop in the area you could ask if they're able to help with this? #34 Nope. That's part of the issue or I would see if I could test it there. #35 I guess I'll just replace each part by buying and then returning until I find the culprit. #36 Well, yeah, between the board and the CPU is always the hardest to find out. Considering the story about your cat, i would say the board is more likely.Which other PSU have you tested it with, by the way? #37 A 650 from my currently working machine. #38 I was thinking more the model, not the rated wattage (the age and the quality is much more important). But a known working one currently in use, that's good at least. Yeah, if i had to guess here, probably the board. I'm guessing you plan to buy a new one, and if it makes the system work, RMA the old one? #39 Yeah currently seeing if MSI will RMA it and. Within few CPU instructions. SQL Server tasks acquire spinlocks by doing interlocked CPU operations in a tight loop, so contention on spinlocks burns a lot of CPU time (CPU usage counters show 90-100% usage, but progress is slow). Further analysis need to be done using sys.dm_os_spinlock_stats:select * from sys.dm_os_spinlock_stats order by spins desc; For further details I recommend reading the Diagnosing and Resolving Spinlock Contention on SQL Server white paper.RESOURCE_SEMAPHORE_QUERY_COMPILEThis wait type indicate that a task is waiting to compile its request. High wait times of this type indicate that query compilation is a bottleneck. For more details I recommend reading Troubleshooting Plan Cache Issues.SQLCLR_QUANTUM_PUNISHMENTThis wait type occurs if you run CLR code inside the SQL Server engine and your CLR code does not yield the CPU in time. This results in an throttling of the CLR code (“punishment”). If you have CLR code that can potentially hijack the CPU for a long time you must call Thread.BeginThreadAffinity(). For more details I recommend watching Data, Faster: Microsoft SQL Server Performance Techniques with SQLCLR.Special wait typesTRACEWRITEThis wait type indicate that tasks are being blocked by SQL Profiler. This wait type occurs only if you have SQL Profiler attached to the server. This wait typeoccur often during investigation if you had set up a SQL Profiler trace that is too aggressive (gets too many events).PREEMPTIVE_OS_WRITEFILEGATHERThis wait type occurs, among other things, when auto-growth of files is triggered. Auto-growth occurs when a insufficiently sized file is grown by SQL Server and is a hugely expensive event. During growth event all activity on the database is frozen. Data file growth can be made fast by enabling instant file growth, see Database File Initialization. But log growth cannot benefit from instant file initialization so log growth is always slow, sometimes very slow. Log Auto-Growth events canComments
