The software on the USB flash drive refused to install properly while the installer obtained from the product page seemed to have problems installing Fan Xpert 4. In the end we had success by downloading the entire 4 GB Armoury Crate package from this link but even then several sections of the suite refused to install without updates, many of which seemed non-existent or took an age to download and install. With a 1 Gbit download speed we have confidence this was the software or an issue with the ASUS servers and not our Internet connection, but eventually we got there.The primary reasons you'd want to install any of the software are Aura Sync for configuring and synchronizing your GB lighting across the motherboard, any attached LED devices and compatible components and also Fan Xpert 4. Honestly, we'd rather have Fan Xpert 4 available as a standalone software as it does give you one of if not the best Windows-based fan control suites of any manufacturer, with the ability to fine tune fan curves, switch between smart and fixed RPM modes and even pick from alternative temperature inputs for system and pump fans such as thermal or coolant probes, which is extremely useful for situations involving watercooling. At the very least it's useful for configuring your fan speeds within Windows using your preferred stress tests, which is obviously not possible from the EFI BIOS.

Well it's a moot point now. In pulling my fan cables from the ROG controller so as to connect them directly to the various motherboard headers, while I wait for an Aquacomputer aquerio and fan board, I some how disturbed my firecuda mvne enough that it threw a critical process fail and I now get to format and reinstall windows. Luckily I have most installs on other drives, unluckily while command line formatting my boot drive I accidentally targeted one of my other drives that happened to be the same size and erased that instead, luckily I have a full install of windows with recovery software on a external drive so am now 2 hours in to a 6 hour recovery on my accident, unluckily recovery isn't good on SSDs so my original C drive data is still lost.Suffice to say while I do hold responsibility for everything that came later the chain wouldn't have started without Armory Crate being awful, and I am never going to install that trash again.Makes me miss my old rig where Aquacomputer took care of everything, fan and pump curves, rgb, temp and flow alarms even power control.

I have just built my new rig with a ROG STRIX z390-E Gaming paired with an i5-9600k. I am over the moon with it all apart from the CPU usage with ASUS lighting service for Auora sync rgb lighting. Normally at rest I use 1%-2% CPU. With the ASUS lighting service active I am sitting at an average of 12% CPU usage at rest which is pretty disappointing. I have since uninstalled the lighting service and switched on the motherboard light from BIOS and then use the onboard controller on my case for fan and case lights which imo have better effects and doesn't use any CPU. Is this kind of CPU usage with the ASUS lighting service normal?
