The truth is that there are probably no technical differences between the 80GB and the 60 GB; when they update the larger model of a line but leave the smaller, the larger is still part of the same line, so there are no major differences. The 60 can more than likely do everything that the 80 can, it just has less hard disk space. And no, Apple probably won't do anything to benefit 60GB iPod users because i recieved my mini shortly before it was discontinued and replaced with the nano, and they did nothing. Those things won't ever be available on the 60gig model. iTunes will always work on any model, but may require a firmware update. Again, read the differences on Apples web site. According to a single source at one of Apple's most prolific hard drive suppliers, Cupertino has ordered up a considerable batch of new 60GB drives specifically for use in updated iPods. Delivery has not yet been made, but according to the source, Apple documents in his posession indicate the update in question would take place in early or mid April; pricing is expected to remain stable for the time being.
